NEOPRENE COATED NYLON 40

Neoprene Coated Nylon 40 Industrial Fabric

ncn industrial fabrics
Name: NCN40

Width: 60”

Fiber: Nylon

Coating: Neoprene

Color: Black

Thickness: .040 inches

Minimum Temperature: -60 F

Maximum Temperature: 250 F

Summary: NCN40 is resistant to acids, moderate chemicals, fats, grease, and oils as well as many solvents and ozone. It is not resistant to oxidizing acids, esters, and ketones or to chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons. NCN40 has good weathering properties, is flame-retardant and has good general physical properties.

Ordering: The minimum order for industrial fabrics is 1 yard. Customers will need to call for pricing.

Built for Performance-Driven Applications

Shop-floor conditions punish lesser materials. NCN40 withstands repeated compression and extension cycles, scraping contact with machine tool ways, and exposure to coolants, cutting fluids, and airborne particulate. As an abrasion-resistant nylon fabric, the woven nylon substrate provides tensile strength and dimensional stability, while the neoprene layer shields against acids, moderate chemicals, fats, grease, oils, many solvents, and ozone. The fabric is flame-retardant, weathers well outdoors, and operates across a wide thermal range from -60°F to 250°F, giving design teams a dependable specification for equipment exposed to temperature swings, UV, and fluid contact.

Key Benefits

The combination of nylon reinforcement and neoprene coating delivers three qualities engineers prioritize when specifying industrial coated fabric materials: durability under cyclic loading, flexibility tight enough for folded and pleated geometries, and resistance to the abrasion that shortens service life on moving equipment. At 0.040 inches, NCN40 is the heaviest of CQM’s neoprene-coated nylon offerings, making it the go-to choice when a thinner neoprene-coated nylon fabric such as NCN27 or NCN20 does not provide enough mass for the application.

Where NCN40 Fits

NCN40 is widely specified for sewn bellows, way covers, linear rail covers, scissor lift covers, and protective enclosures across machine tool, automation, automotive, military, and heavy equipment programs. It is the standard material for stock neoprene coated nylon bellows and a common choice for custom sewn assemblies that shield ball screws, guide rails, hydraulic rods, and sensitive electronics from chips, debris, and fluid intrusion. In machine tool and automation builds, its flex life and abrasion resistance translate directly into longer maintenance intervals and lower total cost of ownership.

Order NCN40 From CQM

CQM stocks NCN40 in 60-inch widths with a 1-yard minimum. Pricing is quoted based on yardage and end-use, so please call for current rates or request a quote with your project details. Our engineering team can confirm material fit, recommend alternate weights, or specify a complete sewn assembly to match your design envelope.
